Beginning at 5.35pm the Mombasa by Night excursion is a fantastic way of experiencing the local traditions and cultures of Mombasa once the sun goes down. The night begins on board an atmospheric Dhow Sundowner Cruise which gives guests stunning views of the Old Port from the water.
Once the Dhow has docked, an experienced and friendly guide will lead you on a walking tour through the historic Old Town to the incredible Fort Jesus. This 400-year-old fortress is a World Heritage Site and is Mombasa’s most visited tourist attraction. Built by the Portuguese as a stronghold at the entrance to the harbour, the ancient Fort Jesus is a stunning example of the 16th century military architecture that has survived centuries of attack and conquest.
Here, guests are welcomed by the Portuguese and Arab fire-bearers before witnessing a dazzling sound and light show that is followed by a delicious dinner served alfresco within the ramparts of the fort for a truly once in a lifetime dining experience. Guests return to their hotel at around 11.30pm.
